Ms. Dunston
Hello, my name is Ms. Dunston, and I am thrilled to be your child’s 1st grade teacher at Dabney. This is my third year in education, and I am passionate about helping young learners grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Human Development Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work while also working toward my teaching licensure.
I am a proud mother of three wonderful children—two boys and one girl—which has deepened my understanding of the joys and challenges of childhood. What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students develop confidence, explore their interests, and realize their full potential. I believe every child has unique strengths and abilities, and I am committed to creating a supportive, engaging, and positive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
This year, I am excited to celebrate the many accomplishments of our Rockets and to watch each child shine as they grow into something truly remarkable. I look forward to partnering with families to make this a successful and memorable school year, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things our students will achieve together!
